Isabella Custino is a choral conductor, educator, and vocalist born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a California state certified K-12 music teacher and holds degrees from Teachers College, Columbia University and the USC Thornton School of Music. It is her goal to share her love and knowledge of choral music and the voice with her community to create a foundation for meaningful shared experiences.
In August 2024, the Delaware Choral Scholars were ranked the No. 1 Choir in the world according to the INTERKULTUR World Rankings. Isabella performed with DCS at the 2024 World Choir Games in Auckland, NZ, winning 3 world championships and 4 gold medals. This group became the new world champion for the first time since 2012.
Isabella owns a music studio, Isabella Nichole Studios, where she provides private instruction for voice, music theory, songwriting, and conducting in-person and virtually. She also directs choirs at Notre Dame Belmont, San Francisco Waldorf High School, and the Peninsula Girls Chorus. As a PGC alumna and avid music student, Isabella feels honored to return to the Bay Area as a vocalist and music educator.
In addition to being an educator, Isabella has a strong passion for the choral arts and performing in choral ensembles. Currently, Isabella sings with Serenade, a Bay Area chamber ensemble run through the Masterworks Chorale. During her time at USC, Isabella was a member of the prestigious USC Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. Jo-Michael Scheibe. While in the Chamber Singers, she participated in numerous projects such as Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Carl St. Clair, Considering Matthew Shepard with Craig Hella Johnson, and Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna in celebration of his retirement.
